When in Rome

Rome kind of speaks for itself. The Italian capital is home to some of the busiest spots in the world, so we went ‘full tourist’ for a couple of days. We spent 2 nights in the strangest hotel ever, and spent our days melting in the sun, but it was great to see places like the Colosseum and to explore some of the Roman history.

We visited:

  • The Colosseum
  • Trivi Fountain
  • Palatine Hill
  • The Roman Forum
  • Vatican City

All of those places were pretty busy with tourists, but I think after living in London for a while we were used to being swarmed with people, so it wasn’t so bad. The Colosseum was extremely busy during the day, but luckily we decided to go inside during the evening when we first arrived – avoiding a lot of the crowds.

Walking around Rome in the evenings was great, it’s a little cooler and not quite as busy. All Of the buskers were out, and we enjoyed some great Italian food and wine.

Below are some photos from our time in Rome. Our next and last stop in Italy is Venice! I should have those photos up this week.
