Lake District, England

After this trip, the Lake District in England is one of my favourite places. The narrow roads, snowy mountains and the many lakes, make an amazing area. We based ourselves just outside of Keswick, and did our best to explore as much of the Lake District as possible, within 3 days.

The Lake District is a very popular holiday spot. It’s not just the natural beauty that draws crowds of Brits every year, but also the interesting history of the area. For example, hidden in the small towns of the Lake District are the homes of many famous writers. William Wordsworth lived in Cockermouth for most of his life and Beatrix Potter lived and based a lot of her stories in the Lake District (there’s lots of ‘Peter Rabbits’ running around).

Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were; Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter. The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Beatrix Potter

I can see why the Lake District has been the inspiration for many different writers and artists. It was almost too easy to find nice places to take photos! See what you think of the selection below – there’s also a few more on Instagram. I’m currently starting to edit the video of this entire road trip. We ended up with around 300 video clips and 1000 photos!
